Justin Bieber is only 13 years old, but he's impressing a lot of people on YouTube with his voice. Here he is peforming for Usher. He's already performed for Esmee Denters. So I wonder if that means Justin Timberlake has signed this boy to a recording contract?
This is my latest mashup video. I've just begun playing around with Flickr photos that are licensed under Creative Commons licenses. There are many millions of photos shot by people--probably many of whom are amateurs--that you can reuse for noncommercial purposes with attribution. There are also millions of photos that you can reuse for even commercial purposes as long as attribution is given to the photographer. You can explore the Creative Commons photos by clicking on this link. (The searches are broken down into the type of CC license granted for the photo.)
The Creative Commons community on Flickr is pretty amazing. The photos in this video are just a sample of the millions of truly impressive photos on Flickr.
News: The NBA has new ads out called "There can be only one" -- the ads have incredible synchronization. It reminds me a little of CatDog, which I just taught in my Trademark class this week. Here it's Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal mashed up together. The timing is nearly flawless.
News: LisaNova, famous for her impersonations on YouTube (that got her a job on Madtv) has recently started vlogging on YouTube. She's finding it difficult to stare into the camera and just talk about her personal thoughts.
News: Eight teenage girls beat up another girl and captured it on video. Just another sad story of how video is part of a disturbing social phenomenon among teens, who seem more emboldened to create a viral video. I blogged about this problem back in October. Yet the problem continues. If you search on YouTube, girl fight videos seem very popular. This is really out of my area of expertise, but something needs to be done. This is a huge problem.
News: YouTube's No. 1 comedian, high school student Kevjumba shot this funny video (no pun intended) of a shooting contest he had with Golden State Warrior Baron Davis, all by video chat.
