Chris Anderson on Charlie Rose show talking about new book "Free"
Interesting interview. I've read the excerpt of the book on Wired this month. Not sure I'm sold on the entire story of "free" goods and services painted by Anderson, at least in the short excerpt. "Free" can only be one part of a business model, but there's always the hard part about how to make money. That's the $64,000 Question -- the one that deserves far more attention than the so-called free part. If the "freeconomics" (Anderson's word) dynamics can only be sustained by advertising models, then the more interesting book would be focused on examining those advertising models. I mean there's probably only a limited amount of advertising to throw around. Some, if not many, businesses will perish.
